So we’s almost ready for opening weekend… I’m thinking we’ll see alot of different cars this year. Lots of WMT jumpin’ as I believe Summers, Yuhas & Pasteryak are all goin’ big time with only select shows at the bowl. That’d be losing 1st, 2nd and 4th in last year’s points … the year after Flash & Eddie retired from weekly competition after winning the ’04 title. Add Charette to that list now too…
Anyone know if Corey will be returning to run the ‘bowl weekly? How about Botticello? Man, was that car fun to watch… Bruce Jr usually puts on a good show… I’d be shocked if Coates wasn’t there …. and hey, do you think we’ve finally seen the last of Phil & Jay?
Sportsman and Mini’s always have the most turn over on the rosters – but the regulars will be back I’m sure…
Ya know – reading all this history made me notice how many times there was a “young guns” invasion. I believe the Late Models had one in the early 80’s with Phil Rondeau, Artie Moran Jr, CJ Frye and Tommy Fox…. I read about it more recently during the late 90’s in the mods with Tucker, Todd Ceravolo and our man JP… anyway, I think we’re due for another round of young hot shoes to mix it up with the ol’ pros…
Dennis, JP, Fox and Janovic – these guys are the crafty veterans now – ya wanna challenge for the win? Be prepared to deal with these cats every week… So who’s gonna step up…. I guess that’s some of what we’ll go to see unfold every week…
And what about the Wednesday grads? Where’s that influx? Like all divisions, there’ll be the guys who will always go enduro style – but by design, these divisions are meant as a steppin’ stone to Saturday night competition, ain’t it. The Saturday car counts have got to benefit from the Wed experience sooner or later
So it won’t be long til we’re hangin’ out every Saturday night…
I wonder if the crowds will gradually get bigger throughout the season…
I’m curious to see how Paul handles the X-Mod to SK switch…
Part of me can’t wait to see what the Monahans will have us talkin’ about after the show…
I can’t wait til Big Joe says somethin’ to make me go bananas…
And how many of will get the other rowdies all fired up…
I pray they’ll play some tunes during the down time…
How long til we have our first on-track meltdown… (it couldn’t be much quicker than last year’s opening show disaster)
Not lookin’ foward to tryin’ to beat Mark in the pick ’ems…
But I know I’ll do better than Jen (yup… it starts this early)
