A Day at the Races began as a series that profiles a race team’s entire day during an event, from the time they unload the car out of the trailer, to when they load it back up at the end of the night and everything that happens in between. Multiple cameras are used to cover the race plus additional Go Pros installed on the racecar and, at times, aerial shots as well.
“For this series, we get to interview the driver and members of their race team at their shop and provide a background to how the team got together and their history together competing at local short tracks,” explains producer Sid DiMaggio. “For some episodes we’ve expanded to profile a team’s entire season using pre-recorded footage from throughout the year. I always enjoy these videos because I learn about a driver, their family and their race teams history. I try to take the viewer with me through that journey in each episode.”
