Hey folks, Sid-ney here
I’m lookin’ to round up some troops for a project I’m working on for Finale weekend. A group of friends and I are going to shoot the Finale… a sort of Day in the Life at the Speedbowl. Our original concept was to profile 8 SK modified drivers, and while we still plan to film several teams, because of the 3-team race for the title after the DDS, the primary focus will be on Rob, Dennis and Keith’s chase for the title. JP, Tyler, Da House Ronnie U and Frank the Tank have also agreed to let us get a glimpse of how their teams operate on race day. In a perfect world, we’d film everyone in every division, but we barely have a budget and can only do so much in a short amount of time. So these are the cats we’re rollin’ with this time around.
So, as we rapidly put this together, we’re lookin’ for some people to help us out. We could have up to 8 cameras operating and need peeps with quality experience taping races at the ‘bowl. If that’s you or someone you know, email me at [email protected] or see me at the track next week. Others around the track offering to help include Gary Danko, Keith Cyr and Tommy Fox. And big thanks to Steve Harraka for helping get J-Rob’s approval to make this happen.
Keep in mind, if you offer you’re time, we’d need you for a majority of both Sat and Sun on Finale Weekend (ie, if you’re a spotter or tire guy for an SK team… probably not gonna be the person we’re looking for) …and yes, we hope to team with the resident videographers to help us. Just haven’t reach out to everyone yet… Steve just got me approval a few minuts ago, so we’re startin’ the ‘ball rolling…
Not sure where we’re going with this yet. At the very least, they’ll be a cool docu-style piece shown at the banquet. or maybe sumptin’ bigger most important thing now is to prepare to film as much as we can on Finale Weekend. I’ll keep ya posted as things develop!
…oh, and as most non-program Sid endeavors roll, this bad-boy is volunteer, so don’t be emailing me your hourly rates Looking for people with passion for the ‘bowl and a chance to be involved in something different… and hopefully, pretty freakin’ awesome by the time it’s done!! Background in audio-visual production would be mint, but not necessary. A season filming your fav driver with a camcorder will get the job done too…
