Inside the Vault – EP 2 | Remembering Whip City Speedway

The story of how 3 racing enthusiasts – Bill Guertin, Frank Ferrara and Dave Pighetti – brought dirt racing to southern New England on the grounds of the Westfield-Barnes Airport. They opened Whip City Speedway in June of 1995 and enjoyed success holding Sprint Car, Dwarf Car and go-kart races until 2010. As the remaining owners planned to retire and sell the track, a sudden turn of events led to the track’s demise.
